Time Well Spent:
Journey to the End of the World

From active volcanoes to vast salt flats, South America is bursting with extraordinary natural wonders. With so much to see and do, we’ve teamed up with time design expert and best-selling author James Wallman to create a bespoke journey by private jet to Chile, Argentina and Bolivia, uncovering some of the region’s most spectacular sights and staying in luxury accommodation along the way.

Using private jet charters throughout, we’ve curated a seamless itinerary that simply can’t be achieved within the same timeframe via scheduled services. Travelling point-to-point – often to areas commercial flights can’t reach – shaves hours off your total travel time, giving you longer to explore each destination to the fullest. You’ll also benefit from unparalleled flexibility if you want to spend a little longer soaking up one of the many sights before moving on.

Day 1:

See the sights in Santiago

Your journey begins in Chile on South America’s western edge, where the city of Santiago sits encircled by the snow-capped Andes. With no airport queues or rigid flight schedules to worry about thanks to the convenience of private jet travel, you can spend a few hours exploring the sights of this vibrant capital – and even extend your visit by an hour or two if you can’t tear yourself away. So relax and take your time, whether you fancy a late lunch in a local restaurant or a stroll around the colonial plaza.

When you’re ready, hop back on your private jet and fly to the northern city of Calama. Stepping off the plane, swap wings for wheels and drive into the Atacama Desert, stopping to watch a spectacular sunset over the Valley of the Moon’s otherworldly rock formations. Just outside the adobe town of San Pedro de Atacama sits Explora Atacama, a welcoming oasis in the rugged landscape where you’ll spend the next two nights.

Day 2:

Watch geysers erupt in the Atacama Desert

Surrounded by salt flats, volcanoes, hot springs and sand dunes, Explora Atacama is perfectly located for discovering the desert’s many natural wonders. Luxury awaits back at the lodge, where every guest room boasts its own jacuzzi and breathtaking views of the mountains and desert. When you’re not out exploring, soothe tired muscles with a pampering spa treatment or take a dip in the private hot spring. As darkness falls, head to the state-of-the-art observatory and prepare to be wowed by a Milky Way so bright it casts a shadow in the dazzlingly clear night sky.

As the day draws to a close, you’ll be flown back to Santiago and transfer to the Millahue Valley for two nights at VIK Chile, a 13,000-acre winery with just 29 individually-designed rooms. Perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the Andes, this boutique retreat is a haven of relaxation where you can horse-ride through the grounds, float in a cantilevered infinity pool and indulge in a vinotherapy treatment at the pampering spa.
